COUNCIL POLICIES

Dear Residents
Welcome to the Shire of Roebourne Web Site. Council recognises
a range of communication vehicles can be utilised to deliver information and these days, consumers require new methods for accessing that information.

The Internet is a communication tool that has taken the world by storm. It enables the quick and easy transmission of information across vast distances. For these reasons, this Site will become an invaluable tool for our Council and for the community.

The Shire of Roebourne invites you to provide feedback on our Site and on how it can be improved. I trust that you will find the information contained on this Site informative and easy to access.

Shire President

SHIRE OF ROEBOURNE STRATEGIC PLAN
Mission: To nurture a unique balance of lifestyle and industry
Our Vision:
Our vision is to create a close knit community whose growth is
not totally dependent on major industry, with expansion into
tourism and other business areas, without detriment to the
environment. Key elements of the Vision are:
  • To be an integrated community where all people feel welcome and want to
    live long term.
  • To have quality lifestyles for everyone within the Shire of Roebourne.
  • To value our cultural diversity.
  • To retain the delicate eco-system of the archipelago, so that recreation,
business and industry develop hand-in-hand with the environment.
  • To have diversity in the range, type and size of business and industry.
  • For Council to have a strong leadership role, ensuring that the region is
governed for the benefit of the local people and shares in the wealth that is
    generated by major industry.
