The Shire of Roebourne in consultation with the Department of Planning has developed the draft Karratha Open Space Strategy (strategy) to provide a framework for the provision of public open space within the Karratha township. The strategy’s secondary purpose is to assist Council rationalise its open space system in the context of need, function and operation.
There may be further opportunities not yet identified to enable the creation of additional lots, or to enable the realignment of property boundaries into reserves not required for recreation or drainage purposes. Submissions identifying land suitable for new lots or amalgamation should be accompanied with maps, photos, or other justification to increase the likelihood of support. Realignment of boundaries will not be supported in order to facilitate vehicular access which is prohibited from parks, recreation and drainage reserves.
Submissions may be lodged up to and including Wednesday 9th December. The above strategy can be viewed on the Shire’s website www.roebourne.wa.gov.au or a copy obtained at the Shire’s Welcome Road Administration Office. Our office hours are weekdays between 9 am and 4 pm except Thursdays, which are between 9 am and 5 pm. Planning Services may be contacted on 91868569 for further information.
