Free Compact Fluorescent Globes To Householders

The Shire of Roebourne is offering four free energy saving light globes per household to replace existing incandescent globes.
The distribution of CFL’s to households in regional WA is part of the Regional Energy Efficiency Program, supported by the State and Australian Governments through the Renewable Remote Power Generation Program.
CFL globes last on average eight times longer than incandescent globes. A 60 watt incandescent globe costs approximately $9 a year compared with a 14w CFL, which produces as much light and costs only $2 a year to run.
The Shire of Roebourne strongly encourages residents to switch to CFL’s to save on energy use, which will reduce both consumer costs and environmental impact.
Your free CFL globes, as well as Council’s “Energy Efficiency & Recycling” information sheet, can be collected from the Shire’s Welcome Road Administration Centre in Karratha. Please bring identification and a proof of address when collecting your free CFL globes.
